On the 21st & 22nd of May, EAPN Spain organizes the VI European Congress Against Poverty and Social Exclusion, in Santander -Palacio de la Magdalena (Avenida de la Magdalena, 1)-.

The VI Congress aims to analyse the challenges for the Social Europe and to discuss the approaches, proposals and/or models that should guide efforts in the fight against poverty and social exclusion at national and EU level, addressing the role of the Third Sector in decision-making processes related to public policies.

The VI Congress seeks to share experiences, best practices, and challenges in the implementation of minimum income schemes (MIS), fostering collaboration among different administrations and social actors. This event aspires to promote a comprehensive approach that guarantees the dignity and well-being of all citizens, thereby contributing to social cohesion and poverty reduction across Europe.

In the various panels, a discussion will be held on strategies for implementing transformative policies that can achieve tangible outcomes for poverty and social rights, at both European and national levels. This will be considered in light of the proclamation of the first-ever EU Anti-Poverty Strategy, as announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on 18 July 2024.

The VI Congress is part of the ‘Foro Anual Europeo contra la Pobreza, la Desigualdad y la Exclusión Social: garantía de derechos y nuevos retos para el modelo social europeo’​, organized by EAPN Spain in 2025 in order to contribute to the analysis of the results and impact of European social policies and its adaptation in Spain.
